I\u2019m stood on the tee at Augusta\r\nWielding my old Wilson Whale\r\nAnd I\u2019m all in a tizz and a fluster\r\nBut I\u2019m hoping my nerve will prevail.\r\n\r\nThe crowd line the tee to the left of me\r\nThere are folk on the right, which is nice\r\nThey must be expecting the best of me\r\nThey know not of my dangerous slice.\r\n\r\nI wish they were standing behind me\r\nSo I ask them all nicely to shift\r\nBut they said that they wouldn\u2019t mind me\r\nIf my drive should go slightly adrift.\r\n\r\nSo I looked at the ball I had teed up\r\nAnd I gave it an almighty clout\r\nA space in the crowd was now freed up\r\nAs my ball took a bunch of them out.\r\n\r\nTheir compadres are baying for blood now\r\nThough I\u2019d told them to move to the rear\r\nAnd my golf reputation is mud now\r\nAs I find myself frozen with fear.\r\n\r\nBut then, thank the Lord, I awaken\r\nIt\u2019s all been a horrible dream\r\nMy golfing ambition is shaken\r\nBut the people are safe it would seem.\r\n\r\nThe Masters will manage without me\r\nMy Whale and my dangerous drive\r\nThough the fans may not know about me\r\nAt least they\u2019ll be mostly alive.<\/pre>\n
